Yarn Count (20s, 40s, 60s)
These numbers refer to yarn fineness

• more rugged
Important:
High count alone does NOT guarantee quality
Bad 60s cotton can still feel worse than good 30s cotton
| Type | Quality |
| Generic cotton | Basic/variable |
| Carded cotton | Cheaper, rougher |
| Combed cotton | Smoother, cleaner |
| Pima cotton | Premium long-staple cotton |
| Supima cotton | American premium Pima. Used by Uniqlo in some of their clothing |
| Egyptian cotton | Luxury long-fiber cotton |
| Sea Island cotton | Ultra-luxury rare cotton |
Polyester
Type: Synthetic fiber

Polyester is one of the most common synthetic clothing materials in the world. It is widely used because of its durability, wrinkle resistance, and low production cost.
Not all polyester is the same. Cheap polyester and high-quality technical polyester can feel completely different.
You should mostly avoid this material for casual wear. It should be used only for high intensity sportswear and outerwear
Advantages
• Very durable
• Wrinkle resistant
• Dries quickly
• Keeps shape well
• Cheap to produce
Disadvantages
• Low breathability
• Can trap heat
• Often feels synthetic or plasticky
• Holds odor more than natural fabrics
• Cheap polyester can look shiny and low quality
Linen

Linen is a lightweight natural fabric made from the flax plant. It is known for its breathability, textured appearance, and premium summer feel.
Linen is one of the best materials for hot weather and humid climates.

Not all linen is the same.
Cheap linen can feel:
